It’s official: the Smallville series finale will be complete. After months of speculation, TVLIne has learned that Michael Rosenbaum will return to the series for the final episode as the one and only Lex Luthor.
There have been plenty of stories about Rosenbaum’s fate, some even claiming that he turned out the offer to return for the final season of the show he starred on. But the actor told TVLine that he’s doing it for the fans, and I’m sure the fans couldn’t be more thrilled.
A Smallville finale without Rosenbaum’s Lex Luthor wouldn’t been hollow and incomplete, but now that we know Superman’s greatest foe will come back, it can calm any fears that the finale wouldn’t be proper.
Check out the full story to read more about what led to Rosenbaum’s decision.
The Smallville series finale will air Friday, May 13 at 8pm with a special two-hour event.
