Thirty-nine-year-old Vanessa Marcil adds the NBC series Lipstick Jungle to her long list of acting credits as she lands a recurring role on the show as Josie, an attractive up-and-coming music manager who promises Shane, played by Blackthorne, a gig scoring music for a cool indie feature.

Previously, Marcil, a California-native, has appeared on the long-running soap opera General Hospital, the iconic 90s teen series Beverly Hills 90210, and another NBC series Las Vegas.

Marcil started out with theater work before finally landing out the role Brenda Barrett on General Hospital.  She bagged three Daytime Emmy Award nominations between 1997 to 2003 for Outstanding Supporting Actress and finally won it in 2003.  While filming, she left the show temporarily and starred in a television movie To Love, Honor, and Deceive, plus a recurring role on the police drama High Incident, which was produced by Steven Spielberg.

In 1998, she joined Beverly Hills 90210 as Gina for one and a half seasons.  She soon made her film debut in 1996 in The Rock, starring opposite Nicholas Cage, Sean Connery, and Ed Harris.  This was followed by two independent films, Nice Guys Sleep Alone with Sean O’Bryan and This Space Between Us with Jeremy Sisto.

Meanwhile, Lipstick Jungle is set to return on September 24, 10 pm on NBC.  Previously, Nico, played by Kim Raver chose to once and for all end things with Kirby after her husband Charles had a heart attack.  Wendy (Brooke Shields), meanwhile, submitted some of her husband Shane’s (Paul Blackthorne) music to the director of a new film without his knowledge, causing some disagreements between the two.  Victory (Lindsay Price) finally looks at Joe’s (Andrew McCarthy) direction again, but he may have something else in mind now.
