Towards the end of the previous year, web reports began circulating that Kat Von D, the star of TLC’s reality show LA Ink, is with child. Although the 26-year-old female tattoo artist has yet to issue an official confirmation, the baby buzz has continued, with many of her fans posting congratulatory messages on her MySpace page.
“Congrats on the baby news to both of you. I am so excited for you,” one post reads. It’s a lot of hard work to raise a child, but when you have family and good friends, it’s a piece of cake. Have a happy New Year!”
Among the first to report about the supposed pregnancy was celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, who has appeared on reality television as well, having competed on MTV’s Celebrity Rap Superstar and starring on a string of VH1 specials called What Perez Sez. Hilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira, Jr., has been sued numerous times for content on his website.
The pregnancy rumors have also been fueled by the preview for LA Ink‘s second season, which reportedly has Kat Von D uttering the words, “I’m pregnant.” This has also left some of her fans in confusion, as it is not clear whether or not she was just joking.
At present, Kat Von D is dating musician Alex “Orbi” Orbison. She first spoke of her relationship with Orbison in September via her MySpace.
A pregnancy at this point in time will certainly affect Von D’s already busy and hectic work schedule, which includes not only running her tattoo shop and starring in LA Ink, but also organizing the first annual tattoo convention and music festival at Orange County Fairgrounds in California in February.
She is also preparing to launch her own cosmetic brand under Sephora, as well as spending time promoting her existing product line, which consists of t-shirts, shot glasses, posters and calendars.
