Tonight’s episode of Kyle XY will focus on Kyle (Matt Dallas) and Jessi’s (Jaimie Alexander) quest to find the truth about their origins and why they were created.

Entitled “Leap of Faith,” the episode, which serves as the midseason finale, reveals more about how deeply Kyle and Jessi are connected.  By making the decision to help Jessi, Kyle puts his and the Tragers safety on the line, all the while still unsure if his hunch about Jessi is true.  Jessi, on the other hand, is faced with the decision to do what is right, especially now that she knows the truth about where she came from and what she was programmed to do.

Meanwhile, the Trager family comes together in an attempt to figure out the secrets that Kyle has been hiding.

When interviewed by SCI FI Wire, series star Matt Dallas told of his character’s journey with Jessi and said that she, who serves as Kyle’s female counterpart, will continue to cause friction between Kyle and his love interest, Amanda Bloom (Kristen Prout).

“There’s definitely some competition that is about to come about between Jesse and Amanda,” Matt Dallas said.  “But, you know, Kyle is such this pure character, and I think … his attraction towards Amanda is so much more, and she’s such a beautiful, pure soul at the same time, that it’s kind of hard for anyone to come in and mess with that.  But I will say there’s definitely a little love triangle that happens between the three of them that is about to come into play.”

The 24-year-old actor also said that the episode will end with a cliffhanger that will lead into the second block of the season.

“There’s also some big surprises about people returning to the show,” he said.  “So, definitely, there’s a lot coming up in the last episode.”

The midseason finale of Kyle XY will air tonight at 8/9pm ET/PT on ABC Family.  Fans will have to wait for some time before they can start watching new episodes of Kyle XY again.  The network announced in a press release that the second part of season 2 will begin airing on June 11, although other reports suggest that it could start as early as spring.
