To prepare ourselves for the crazy, perhaps catastrophic premiere of America’s Next Top Model: All Stars, let’s familiarize ourselves with the contestants. We know a lot about these ladies from their time on the show, but what have they accomplished since then? What mysterious mystical force convinced them to take another shot at the much-coveted and often laughed-at title? Was it Tyra?

Some of these questions will be answered throughout this week, when we take a look back at the lives of these All-Star contestants. We’ll also highlight a few of their best moments on America’s Next Top Model.

Today, let’s look up Isis King, now 100% woman.

Don’t Miss This All-Star Clip of Isis

Rising to fame as the first trans-woman to be in the competition, Isis has since completed her gender reassignment surgery. When she revealed her secret to the other girls on the show back then, they didn’t take it lightly. She became the subject of much gossip and discrimination within the house, such as the hot tub fight with Hannah, but she pulled through.

Isis was praised for her skills in taking powerful photos and even impressed them, until she held back during the swimsuit challenge. She was therefore sent home for her weak expressions and awkward behavior in the pool.

Since her elimination, Isis has appeared on The Tyra Banks Show twice. Her first time was to discuss her life story and meet the surgeon Marci Bowers, then later she returned to reveal the results of her operation. She also became a guest on Larry King Live, and completed her transition into being a woman in 2009.

With that, she grabbed the chance to be on America’s Next Top Model again. She hasn’t been signed by an agency and only works freelance as a model. Despite that, she is one of the most recognized transgenders on television and has inspired many to follow her path.

Check back tomorrow as we look at another contestant from America’s Next Top Model All-Stars. And set your calendars for the show’s premiere on September 14.
