Victoria Justice, 15, who plays Jamie Lynn Spears’ sidekick and friend on Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101 is getting as show of her own.  She recently signed an overall talent and music deal with the network en route to a comedy series that will serve as a platform for her promotion.

According to Paula Kaplan, Nickelodeon’s executive vice-president for talent and West Coast general manager, “Victoria is a rare kind of actress.  She’s beautiful, yet takes a fearless approach to acting.”

The people tasked to create this new show are those behind iCarly, Zoey 101, and Drake and Josh, shows that feature young, budding actors and actresses trying to break through the same way Disney did Miley Cyrus.  The contract also had Nickelodeon inking a partnership with Sony BMG Music Entertainment for the music component of the deal.

The new project top-billed by the Zoey 101 star will be set in a modern day school for the performing arts and will include original music.  There will be another project for Justice, an upcoming Nickelodeon original television movie called Spectacular, set in the competitive world of show choirs.

“Kids loved her on Zoey 101 because she could boldly take a pie in the face or just as easily tackle a dramatic scene.  It is this versatility combined with her musical talent and real-girl qualities that make her someone we are excited about,” adds Kaplan.

On Zoey 101, Justice plays an aspiring actress who is best friends with Zoey Brooks (Spears).  She also guest-starred on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody as junior beauty pageant winner Rebecca and counts Gilmore Girls and Everwood among her accomplishments.  Of primarily Puerto Rican and Irish descent, Justice also has German, French and English blood in her.  She resides in Hollywood, California, and graduated from Robert A. Millikan Middle School in 2007.
