For the first time ever, avid followers of SCI-FI Channel’s Battlestar Galactica will be given the power to vote for their favorite DVD packaging of Battlestar Galactica: Razor Unrated Extended Edition.  The DVD is scheduled for release late this year.

The show’s official website will display a selection of three choices for Battlestar Galactica fans.  Voting is set to commence today, August 28, and will continue on until 12 midnight Pacific Standard Time on September 7.  Results of the voting will be posted on September 14.

The DVD features an extended version of the two-hour spin-off movie, Battlestar Galactica: Razor.  The DVD also contains behind-the-scenes interviews with the series creator, Ronald Moore and David Eick.

Director of Photography Stephen McNutt appears on “The Look of Battlestar Galactica” special feature, showing viewers how the series achieves it visceral and gritty look, while several cast members of Battlestar Galactica explain which episode they have enjoyed the most on “My Favorite Episode So Far.”

Other features include Deleted Scenes “Sneak Peek into Season Four with creators David Eick and Ron Moore,” and a commentary from the series creators.

Battlestar Galactica: Razor
features all-new characters and more action and visual effects than any previous episode of the sci-fi series.

The special two-hour event tells the story of Lee Adama (Jamie Bamber) when he was a commander of the Battlestar Pegasus.  The made-for-tv movie also reveals the story of how Admiral Cain (Michelle Forbes) served her ship during the original Cylon attack on the Colonies.

Battlestar Galactica: Razor will air on November 24, while the extended DVD is scheduled for release on December 4.  Minisodes will be aired during the weeks leading up to the premiere of Razor.  After all the minisodes have aired, they will be shown on the network’s website.  Similar to the previous seasons, the minisodes will prepare viewers for what is to come in the fourth and final edition of Battlestar Galactica, which will begin airing next year.
