Bachelor in Paradise Recap: Jaclyn’s Arrival Fuels Ashley’s Desperation>>>
On the most recent episode of Bachelor in Paradise, Jaclyn Swartz arrived and set her sights on Jared, prompting Ashley to step up her game. Not only did she write Jared a lengthy letter to describe her feelings, she also invited him to an overnight date.
“I’m not going to let her take Jared away from me! I’m winning him over. Tonight is literally do or die,” Ashley vowed.
Jared accepted Ashley’s invitation much to everyone’s surprise.
“I am so happy. I’m really nervous, but I’m also excited!” she said to the camera. “This is one of the biggest nights of my life! I am physically attracted to Jared enough that I am fine with the thought of doing anything. I don’t know what’s going to happen tonight, but I may not be a virgin tomorrow!”

In her Cosmopolitan blog, though, Ashley claims that she’s not as oblivious as she appears to be and she’s still holding out for the right person.
“Look, I have the book and I’ve seen the movie at least a dozen times… I knew Jared just wasn’t that into me,” Ashley admitted. “Once we passed that fourth rose ceremony, there weren’t going to be any more guys arriving in Paradise — not that I would have been interested in them, anyway, because I was too invested in Jared. I don’t crush often, but when I do I crush hard; I honestly don’t even think Zac Efron could have turned my head. Jared was my guy.”
“While I was excited to have the date myself, and the promise of complete alone time, it was a lot of pressure to put on one night — despite all my babbling and my intense physical attraction to Jared, I would never lose my virginity to someone who wasn’t committed or in love with me. If anything, waiting this long for sex only makes me more careful about the timing and person it’s with,” she continued.
Bachelor in Paradise airs Sundays and Monday at 8pm ET on ABC.
