During the last nine cycles of America’s Next Top Model, Tyra Banks has gone through many judges.  She started in 2003 with Janice Dickinson, Beau Quillian, and Kimora Lee Simmons.  It was no secret that Dickinson and Simmons did not get along during filming.  Simmons left after one season as did Quillian.  Eric Nicholson judged in season 2 but once season 5 rolled around, Banks seemed to have found the perfect combo.  Since cycle 5, Tyra has judged with Nigel Barker, J. Alexander, and Twiggy.  However, things will change once again for the upcoming season as one judge exits and makes room for another.

Today the CW announced that Twiggy would not be returning for cycle 10.  The network would only site “scheduling conflicts” as the reason for her exit.  Twiggy has been a judge for America’s Next Top Model since cycle 5.  The CW released this statement today about Twiggy’s involvement with the show: “We would like to thank Twiggy for her great contributions to the show. Having an icon like Twiggy lend us her considerable expertise has elevated our show to a whole new level. We wish her well in her endeavors and hope to collaborate with her in future cycles of ANTM as well as other projects.”

Former supermodel Paulina Porizkova will be replacing her on the panel.  She is certainly qualified to fill the empty seat.  In the 1990s, she was featured twice as People magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People.  Her face has appeared in many fashion magazines include Elle, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and Glamour.  She has also appeared in several movies and is a published author.  Fans have seen her recently on last season’s Dancing With The Stars.  She and her partner Alex Mazo were voted out first.

Now, she turns her attention to judging instead of competing.  Ken Mok, Executive Producer of America’s Next Top Model had this to say about the show’s newest judge.  “We are thrilled to have Paulina as a part of this cycle’s judging panel. The show and participants will benefit a great deal from her vast modeling knowledge and expertise.”
