American Idol may be ending this spring, but one of its most famous alums will be coming back to FOX in the fall. The network has announced that Adam Lambert, the glam rocker who was the runner-up on season 8 of American Idol, will join the cast of The Rocky Horror Picture Show as Eddie.

Eddie is the ex-delivery boy who shows up on a motorcycle and was played by singer Meat Loaf in the original film. Lambert will put his own spin on the role in FOX’s new TV movie adaptation which is set to air in the fall. However, unlike other TV musicals in recent years, Rocky Horror will not be a live production.

Lambert joins previously announced cast members Laverne Cox (Orange Is the New Black), Victoria Justice, Ryan McCartan, Reeve Carney (Penny Dreadful) and Staz Nair.

Since his time on Idol, Lambert has had a successful music career. His only other acting credit is as Starchild on Glee. He also appeared on Pretty Little Liars as himself.
