Biography
Actor Paul Goddard was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and is known for his portrayal of the character Stark in the popular series Farscape. In 1985, he was cast in his first television role, as Simon Armstrong in Sons and Daughters. He was seen in 12 episodes in the drama, playing opposite Pat McDonald, Leila Hayes, Brian Blain and Ian Rawlings. Goddard was next seen in the TV film Barnum! In 1986, and was the lead in the movie Bullseye in 1987. The next year he was given a role in The Everlasting Secret Family, and was later seen in Dead to the World in 1991.
Paul Goddard continued to accept roles on television series. His credits include playing Gareth Shillington in A Country Practice, Stephen in episodes of Coronation Street and Jeff in an episode of Big Sky. Some of the films he can be seen in are 1995’s Billy’s Holiday, a musical directed by Richard Wherrett and the hit family adventure Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. Goddard was also cast alongside James Cromwell in the award-winning family fantasy Babe, playing the son-in-law of Farmer Hodgett. In 1999, he landed the role of Agent Brown in the acclaimed blockbuster movie The Matrix. Shortly after he filmed the movie, he worked alongside Kate Winslet and Harvey Keitel in the drama comedy Holy Smoke. In 2000, he was featured in his best-known role, as the Banik slave Stark on the series Farscape. Stark is capable of seeing the pain and suffering of others, making him a highly desired test subject for the experiments of Scorpius, played by Wayne Pygram. Goddard reprised this role in the miniseries, Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars in 2004. He was also cast in several other television productions, like the famous series Water Rats and the internationally aired The Lost World. Some of his other films include Jet Set and Hildegarde, both in 2001. He was seen in All Saints and BlackJack: Ghosts as well.
