Today CBS announced when its fall shows will premiere, and many of the dates are easy to remember because CBS is essentially launching all of its shows in a single week.  From Monday, September 21 to Sunday, September 27, CBS will premiere all but two of its shows.

Those exceptions include the newest season of Survivor, which premieres one week early to allow a two-hour premiere on Thursday. September 17, and the series premiere of Three Rivers starring Moonlight's Alex O'Loughlin which comes Sunday, October 4, one week late to allow The Amazing Race to have a two-hour premiere.

Continuing in this exciting week of Fall schedules, CBS revealed its lineup today, and while many shows remain fixed, there are some big moves.  The Mentalist, this past season's top new show, will get the coveted post-CSI timeslot Thursdays at 10pm.

And one day after NBC officially cancelled Medium, CBS scooped it up and Patricia Arquette will now see ghosts right after Jennifer Love Hewitt does the same thing on Ghost Whisperer.

Before 2008 came to a close, Charlie (David Krumholtz) had to deal with his nemesis, Marshall Penfield, as they race against time to solve a case so big that just one mathematical genius was not enough. This week on Numb3rs, Don finds his past coming back to haunt him in the episode called “Arrow of Time.”

On the last episode of the CBS math-inclined procedural Numb3rs, a freight truck and a commuter train collided resulting to understandably a lot of casualty.  Don and his team needed to race against time to get the passengers out safely.  Now in old Numb3rs fashion, they needed to find out whether the collision was an accident or was something intentional.  The episode finished first in its timeslot, reeling in 11.3 million viewers, ahead of 20/20 featuring Diane Sawyer's interview of the New York Gov. Spitzer escort Ashley Dupre and NBC's endangered species Lipstick Jungle.

In other news, Broadcasting and Cable reports exclusively that procedurals Numb3rs and Criminal Minds both from CBS will start airing in syndication in 2010, when CSI: New York and CSI: Miami goes off-air, two shows that have proven to be hot performers in syndication.  CSI: New York currently airs at 11:30pm, while CSI: Miami, at 12:30am on Saturday and Sunday nights in most markets.

When Numb3rs returned for its fifth season on October 3, it came back with a bang, achieving a major milestone in its three-year run.  Cast member David Krumholtz didn't think the police procedural can surpass or even equal what last season put forward but what the new season has to offer may be the best yet.

"I honestly think we hit our stride last year," Krumholtz, who plays mathematician Charlie Eppes on Numb3rs, told Zap2it.com.  "Knowing what we've accomplished so far this season, I really do believe, it doesn't get much better than this.  If last year we hit our stride, this year we found our voice."
