The Good Wife has always had some great guest stars, but it seems like the list of guest actors to join the show in season 4 is going to put all the previous seasons to shame. With new names like Kyle MacLachlan and Margaret Colin, plus returning favorites like Matthew Perry, we’ve got a lot to look forward to when the show returns in 2013.

First up is some casting news straight from the folks at CBS, all about the return of Matthew Perry:

Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominee Matthew Perry is set to reprise his guest starring role on The Good Wife in an episode to air in early 2013.

Perry will return as Mike Kresteva, a slick Chicago attorney who clashed with Alicia during a blue ribbon panel investigation into a police shooting.  Kresteva later announced that he would run against Alicia’s husband, Peter, for the governorship and has taken out a series of attack ads against him.

Perry s a personal favorite of mine. I’ve had a huge crush on him since he was on Friends and I think he is just tearing it up on his new show, Go On, so this particularly happy news for me. Even though Perry plays kind of a jerk on The Good Wife, I’m still looking forward to his return. I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble he’ll be stirring up this time.

Next up, we’ve got some casting news from EW’s Inside TV about another very handsome actor joining the cast in a guest starring role. Looks like Kyle MacLachlan (who last appeared in the short-lived CBS drama Made in Jersey) will be joining the cast for at least one episode. The details of his appearance are sketchy at best, but right now we do know that his character will be interacting with Eli Gold (Alan Cumming).

MacLachlan and Cumming in the same scenes? Yes, please!

Finally, we have some casting new from The Huffington Post, Looks like The Good Wife will be welcoming a Gossip Girl into their midst.

Actress Margaret Colin (who plays plays Eleanor Waldorf on Gossip Girl) told HuffPost TV, “I’m currently filming an episode of ‘The Good Wife,’ where I’m back in high heels and shoulder pads playing a lawyer.”

“That Julianna Margulies … her body is aerodynamically impossible,” Colin added. “I have no idea how she keeps that figure. I refuse to even bring it up — I don’t think she even owns a pair of spanks. But it was fun to act with her!”

Colin’s appearance was confirmed, as was the fact that the episode will air in early January.

That’s some great talent heading over to The Good Wife in 2013. What do you think of all this wonderful casting news? Who are you more excited to see when the show returns in January?

The Good Wife airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
