The Biggest Loser: Bob Harper Launches Web Series
Monday, April 21, 2008

As if Bob Harper isn’t busy enough! Season 5 of The Biggest Loser just wrapped and season 6 is heading right back to NBC this summer. Today, Harper launched a new web show, “5 Minute Workout” on MSN.com. A total of 22 episodes will air but the first five are already available. In the series, Harper visits people at work to provide fitness help and ways to stay in shape even when stuck behind a desk all day. Kraft has joined forces with the show as the sponsor so viewers can expect to see Planters, Jell-O, Trail Mix Crunch, and 100 Calorie Packs as healthy suggestions from Bob.

MSN has collaborated with Reveille on the project and have already created 10 brand-integrated online series. “This is the latest in a long line of productions we’ve created together,” said Erika Nadini, senior director of brand entertainment and experience at MSN. “Reveille has been an engaging and inspiring partner.” Besides The Biggest Loser, Reveille produces The Office and has previously produced reality shows such as Shear Genius and Celebrity Cooking Showdown.

After seeing the success of The Biggest Loser and its website, Reveille managing director Mark Koops decided to give Harper his own web series. “The health and lifestyle business is a booming one,” he said. “This felt like a great natural extension of that.”

This month, Harper also released his book “Are You Ready!: To Take Charge, Lose Weight, Get in Shape, and Change Your Life Forever”. In his interview with BuddyTV before the start of season 5, Harper described his book, saying, “It's about getting people to like themselves all over again and getting them back on track. That, to me, was such an eye-opening experience. My book is so not about, you know, ‘Get a six-pack in six weeks’. It's not about that.”
