The Amazing Race has consistently featured a diverse cast of contestants. The show has featured racers with a wide range of ages, races and ethnicities, and shapes and sizes. Now, the tenth season of the show has been nominated by Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) for its "fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community."
The tenth season of "The Amazing Race" featured both a gay couple (Tom and Terry) and the Race’s first openly lesbian player, Lauren Marcoccio of Duke & Lauren.
The show is nominated along with Big Brother: All-Stars, Project Runway, Queer Eye, and Work Out for "Outstanding Reality Program." The winners will be awarded on March 26th, and aired on the Logo network on April 27th, 2006.
