is getting off to a big start in 2013 with a slew of guest stars,
headlined by the triumphant return of Felicia Day. Here are some details
on the first two new episodes from the new year.
"Torn and Frayed" (Wednesday, January 16)From the CW: "Naomi tells Castiel that Crowley is holding an angel captive and Castiel must rescue him before Crowley finds out their secrets. Castiel turns to Dean for help. Meanwhile, Sam meets with Amelia who asks him to make a choice: stay with her or leave and never contact her again."
Season 8's big story arc involving the Demon Tablet and Castiel's sleeper agent status will be front and center in the first episode back. Hopefully we will learn some more about Naomi's true intentions and the angels' involvement."LARP and the Real Girl" (Wednesday, January 23)From the CW: "Sam and Dean investigate the mysterious deaths of two LARPers (Live Action Role Playing) who were playing a game entitled Moondoor. The guys are thrilled to discover the Queen of Moondoor is none other than Charlie. The three learn that a fairy has been commandeered to harm people and the only way to stop her is to find her master."
Clearly this is going to be one of the funnier episodes of the season for Supernatural. It marks the return of LARPing, which we've seen before in episodes like "The Real Ghostbusters" and fairies from "Clap Your Hands If You Believe."
Charlie, you'll definitely remember, was the geeky computer genius working for Dick Roman in "The Girl With the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo" (obviously Supernatural
is saving its best movie pun episode titles for Felicia Day). She helped the Winchesters fight the Leviathans then disappeared on a bus, changing her identity and asking them never to contact her again.
Will Charlie be happy to see Sam and Dean again? Or will her broken arm from the last time they met make her less than pleased to be back in the fight?
Find out when new episodes of Supernatural return starting Wednesday, January 16 at 9pm on the CW.
