Sons of Anarchy has always reflected the violent nature of the club’s world and in season 6 that is only heightened. The club will have to deal with horrific and terrible situations that will be difficult for them to face.

Mark Boone Junior and Theo Rossi spoke with reporters about Sons of Anarchy season 6, including Bobby’s status with the club, Juice’s journey and the tone of the season.

Mark Boone Junior Interview

Highlights from the interview:

  • Boone jokes that Bobby starts the season on a Caribbean vacation and gets involved with the cocaine drug trade. (Don’t worry, it was just a joke. Bobby isn’t too far from Charming as the season begins.)
  • Bobby is “disgruntled” and he goes “absentia” for a while.
  • The Sons are “pretty busy.”
  • “You can’t leave. Once you’re in, you’re in until you’re out.”
  • “Bobby cutting off the VP patch isn’t Bobby leaving the club. Not at all. He’s just giving up his officer’s position.”
  • Bobby will be someone to contend with on how the club proceeds. He won’t walk away from the club. He’s been there over 20 years.
  • Everyone in the club is very surprised that Clay’s still alive. Bobby’s responsible for that. He kept Clay alive to “stop the blood lust.”
  • SAMCRO doesn’t have many members left.
  • “Bobby is not a blood thirsty kind of person.”
  • “Bobby was really trying to curb Jax last season.”
  • The focus moves away from the Clay-Jax strife.
  • On the first 5 episodes, “Some terrible things have happened. Some very terrible things.”

Theo Rossi Interview

Highlights from the interview:

  • This is the most violent season ever.
  • In season 6, viewers will see a different Juice.
  • “This is an amazing season. As in, not just the violence, but the cerebral play, it’s a very smart, smart season.”
  • Every single season, it’s been something different for Juice. Rossi feels lucky to get to do that. It’s remained interesting.
  • Rossi reflects on Juice’s journey from the funny guy, then hiding coke and maybe ratting, and then season 5 he starts out a mess, and ended last season on the wall as Clay was arrested.
  • “It’s very interesting. It’s a very violent and cerebral season.”
