Glover, a 63-year old actor, is a native of Salisbury, Maryland. As an actor, he appeared in a number of movies and television series such as Gremlins 2: The New Batch, Payback, Batman and Robin, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Brimstone. In addition, he also graced the show Law & Order: Criminal Intent as a guest star. Ultimately, he acquired a Tony award for the movie Love! Valour! in 1995.

Glover has been with the action and adventure-filled series Smallville since its commencement in 2001. His partaking in the much-awaited Broadway show is a refreshing break from his portrayal of the infamous villain and criminal sociopath in Smallville, and a serves as an instrument to relive and revive his previous Broadway experiences. In the past, he was already exposed in a number of Broadway productions such as Design for Living, Whodunnit, Frankenstein, The Importance of Being Earnest and Holiday, as well as Off Broadway productions like The Winter's Tale, Sorrows and Rejoicings, Oblivion Postponed, Digby, Give Me Your Answer Do, A Scent of Flowers, Rebel Women, The House of Blue Leaves, The Fairy Garden, Subject to Fits, Criminal Minds and Treats.

Bob Martin, who is also the co-writer of the book, created the role now assumed by John Glover. Previously, Martin also played the role of "Man in Chair". Now, the award-winning writer is busy heading up a London production, which begins on May. With this said, Glover fills up the role. The Broadway production of “The Drowsy Chaperone” will be shown in April.
