NBC is still in love with Dick Wolf. The veteran producer behind the Law and Order franchise got a double dose of good news today when NBC renewed Law and Order: Special Victims Unit for its 14th season and picked up a new show from Wolf, Chicago Fire.

The SVU renewal ensures its place as the network's longest-running scripted series and comes after star Mariska Hargitay signed a deal to return. It also means early next year the show will hit its 300th episode.

Meanwhile, Chicago Fire is a drama about firefighters in Chicago. It stars Taylor Kinney (The Vampire Diaries, Trauama) and House's Jesse Spencer. Other co-stars include Sex and the City's David Eigenberg, Hawaii Five-0's Lauren German, The Good Wife's Monica Raymund, and Oz's Eamonn Walker.

This joins the networks two other new scripted dramas (the Eric Kripke/J.J. Abrams thriller Revolution and Bryan Fuller's Silence of the Lambs prequel Hannibal) as well as NBC's five new comedies (Matthew Perry's Go On, Anne Heche's Save Me, Ryan Murphy's The New Normal, Justin Kirk's Animal Practice and the White House comedy 1600 Penn).

NBC will announce its full schedule for next season on Monday.
