With only a few episodes left to go and only four contestants remaining, The Pussycat Dolls Present: Search for the Next Doll seems to be gaining momentum in the ratings, with a ten percent increase in viewers over last week, and up to fourteen percent more viewers among both women 18-49 and the overall adult 18-49 demographic.

The CW claims that the combination of America’s Next Top Model and The Pussycat Dolls Present: Search for the Next Doll has won them second place on Wednesday 8-10pm, only losing out to Fox’s Til Death and American Idol’s results show. I have to question The CW’s math on this “number two” idea, as CBS’ Criminal Minds does a lot better than Search for the Next Doll, even if Top Model beats out Jericho.

While I’m sure they’d like to be number one, even just doing better than NBC and ABC in the Wednesdays 8-10 slot is a pretty good feat for the relatively new CW network.

For some reason, the Wednesday night reply of Search for the Next Doll does better in the ratings than the Tuesday night original showing. Is it because it follows America’s Next Top Model? Maybe. Top Model is number two in its time slot, among women 18-49 and all adults 18-34, with only American Idol’s results show beating it.

As well, Tuesday’s episode of Search for the Next is up against House, Dancing with the Stars’ results show, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, which even in reruns tends to beat The Pussycat Dolls Present Search for the Next Doll.

The combination of America’s Next Top Model and The Pussycat Dolls Present: Search for the Next Doll seems to be a winner for The CW; maybe they should consider moving the first run of Search for the Next Doll to Wednesdays. Would the fans watching it on Tuesdays switch to Wednesdays, or would that jinx the success they’ve got going? Is it too late now to change the schedule? There’s only a few more episodes of either show.
