NCIS may have wrapped up its fifth season but that doesn't mean that fans won't be able to relive the drama of the entire 19 episodes in the near future. Paramount Home Entertainment has officially announced the release date for the
NCIS- The Complete 5th Season. On August 26, fans will be able to enjoy the strike-interrupted season in an 835-minute-long collection presented in widescreen video and English - 5.1 surround stereo audio.
As of this moment, there are no other details available yet for this release. Nevertheless, we will keep you posted for updates.
For those who are not familiar with
NCIS, the show is police procedural drama that follows a fictional team of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service Major Case Response Team (MCRT) special agents, based at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. Often assigned to high-profile cases such as a terrorist threats, kidnapping or an assassination attempts, the team investigates crimes involving persons and property associated with the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps.
Leading the series is Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (
Mark Harmon), an ex Marine gunnery sergeant, whose expertise as an investigator is unmatched, formerly spearheaded this troupe of colorful personalities. Other featured players on the show are Tony DiNozzo (
Michael Weatherly), Timothy McGee (
Sean Murray), Ziva David (
Cote de Pablo), Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard (
David McCallum), Abby Sciuto (
Pauley Perrette), Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll), Ron Sacks (Don Franklin), Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen), and Tobias Fornell (Joe Spano), just to name a few.
The show premiered on September 23, 2003 with 11.84 million viewers. Amazingly,
NCIS gained more and more audiences as it progressed. The series also became a top 10 program in its fifth season, averaging 15.65 million viewers, while remaining impervious to tough reality competition including FOX's mega-hit
American Idol.
Meanwhile,
NCIS is scheduled to return for a sixth run in the 2008-2009 season.
