For NCIS viewers, Michael Weatherly is popularly known as the streetwise senior investigator that is often seen flirting with attractive women.  His character, Special Agent Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo, has had his serious moments when it comes to exploring investigations but more often than not, he tends to exude an immature and borderline chauvinistic behavior that usually puts him in hot water.

Throughout the series, Tony has dated various types of women, including a terrorist, a pre-operative transsexual, a social worker, a high school teacher and Special Agent Paula Cassidy, whom he had a brief relationship with.  While most of these affairs fail to progress past a certain point due to his commitment issues, Weatherly reveals that in real life, he is nothing like his NCIS character.

When TV Guide asked him if he associates himself with the womanizer he plays on TV, he said, “No. Over 10 years, I was in three relationships.  I’m like a golden retriever.  I’m a pretty loyal dog as long as I’m getting my ALPO and my water.”

Weatherly, who turns 40 next July, hints that he has a girlfriend but has refused to disclose her name. He says that he is very pleased with her and that he feels fortunate to have met her.

“She’s a very good thing. She’s studying to be a doctor. I’m extraordinarily happy and lucky,” the NCIS actor said.

Currently in its fifth season, NCIS follows a federal law enforcement agency that explores crimes involving persons and property associated with the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps. Aside from Weatherly, the show stars Mark Harmon (Leroy Jethro Gibbs), David McCallum (Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard), Pauley Perrette (Abigail “Abby” Sciuto), and Lauren Holly (Jenny Shepard), just to name a few.

Fans can catch Michael Weatherly and the rest of the gang on NCIS, which airs tonight at 8pm ET/PT on CBS.
