I think I can say I’ve been waiting for forever for Lost‘s final season premiere. February 2 is just under a month away–and, well, we might wait a bit longer.

The White House is considering two dates for President Obama’s State of the Union address: either January 26, or February 2. If they choose the earlier date, American Idol gets bumped. If they choose the later date, the Lost premiere will get bumped, which means we might see it on February 9.

It happened with American Idol before, so that’s no biggie. But Lost fans? Of course, all that waiting wasn’t fun, and an extra week of waiting isn’t fun either. Already, fans have launched a Twitter campaign, tagging their objections with the hashtag #NoStateofUnionFeb2.

The White House won’t comment on the matter, but reports say they haven’t chosen anything. Still, I think we can all convince Obama to consider that he doesn’t want a speech on Groundhog Day. You know, political implications and all…
