People can be very passionate about spoilers. One has to be exceedingly careful when deploying spoilers to fans of a TV series.
Lost, especially, is difficult.
Lost is a series that greatly relies on its surprises. Without them, it wouldn't be
Lost. However, I can tell you, knowing the spoiler that will be revealed below, that this spoiler is vague and uncertain enough that it won't necessarily ruin anything for fans. The validity of the spoiler is not uncertain, but who it regards is. It involves casting for next season. That's all I'll say for now. It's up to you,
Lost fan, whether you want to know what it is. If you're one of those people who avoids any and all spoilers, then I advise you stay away.

This information comes courtesy of Kristin from E! Online. According to Kristin's sources, a female regular cast member who has been on
Lost since season 1 will not be back for season 5. Does this mean this character dies? It doesn't appear so. This cast member has been put into a “holding contract” and the plan is to bring this actress back for season 6.
If this is true (and I see no reason for Kristin to lie), then it brings up some interesting questions: Which actress will be absent for season 5? And, why will that character return for season 6?
So, the contenders would be:
Evangeline Lilly,
Yunjin Kim and Emilie De Ravin. Those are the female series regulars since season 1. Unless the character in question is Rose, it has to be one of those three, right?
The obvious guess would be De Ravin. It makes sense that whatever happened to Claire a couple episodes back will keep her out of normal island interaction for the near future. Emelie probably didn't want to become just a featured player next season, and so it stands to reason that the Lost team compromised with Ravin's people and promised her return for season 6. I'm sure we'll have a much better idea of whether the character in question is Claire or not after the two hour finale airs next week.
