It took a while, but it’s finally happening: Maggie Grace is returning to Lost.

“We’re really excited about having her back on the show,” executive producer Carlton Cuse told Entertainment Weekly. “We have a good story for her.”

Shannon was, of course, killed off halfway through the second season, although she appeared as a guest in the third season. As talk of killed-off cast members returning for the sixth season spiked up–Dominic Monaghan and Ian Somerhalder have returned, while Harold Perrineau, Cynthia Watros and Rebecca Mader are coming soon–Grace was the final hold-out from the original cast, thanks to her movie commitments.

Already the writers tweaked Boone and Shannon’s storyline in the parallel universe: Boone did return to Los Angeles unsuccessful in convincing his half-sister slash former lover to break away from an abusive relationship. Now Grace is returning, any ideas as to what they’ll do with Shannon? We don’t have many clues to work with: the producers won’t specify how many episodes she’ll appear in, but we can guess it’s somewhere in the last four episodes or so.
