'LA Ink' Loses Pixie
Tuesday, March 11, 2008

PixieBrace yourselves LA Ink fans, as we're about to drop a bomb.  Last week, we told you that the TLC reality show had just finished filming its installments for the second season.  This week, we have the unenviable task of breaking the news that Pixie has left the shop and the show.

The scoop comes straight from LA Ink and High Voltage Tattoo's resident ink mistress, Kat Von D.  Kat posted a long and candid entry in her MySpace blog, giving a general account of what transpired that eventually led to Pixie's sudden exit.

In her message dated Saturday, March 8, Kat wrote that Pixie Acia's departure from LA Ink seemed to have been in the making for some time.

“When I first put together my crew for LA Ink, Pixie was actually the first and only person that I knew in my heart I wanted on the team,” Kat began her entry.  “But working together can definitely put you on a different level with your homies, and I for one, never thought that what happened recently, would have ever gone down the way it did.”

She went on to say that although she knows herself to be a good friend, co-worker and sister, she is aware of her weaknesses and admits to the fact that being a boss is much more complicated and difficult than it looks.

“In one second that an argument between Kim and Pixie took place, I realized I had no control over the situation at hand - none.  I don't think I've ever felt like a helpless little kid as much as I did that day,” Kat wrote on.

The LA Ink star then admitted that had she known taking Pixie under her employ would someday lead to an ugly altercation that could rock their friendship, she would have thought twice about hiring her.

“If I knew that hiring Pixie from Day One, would evolve into a gnarly fight, I probably wouldn't have hired her, since situations like these can cause you to fall out of friendships with people,” Kat's MySpace message read.  “But that sh*t DID happen.  It was real.  And it totally sucked.  Watching Pixie walk out the door the way she did, really changed a lot of things, and still hurts to think about it till this day.”

The LA Ink episode containing Pixie's departure airs Thursday, March 13.
