Everyone has a theory about which Heroes cast member wants out ever since E! Online’s Kristin Dos Santos released a blind item earlier this month.  As reported before, the article doesn’t name the actor but does offer some clues: First, he or she has been on Heroes since the first season.  Taking out the said actor will likely create chaos among fans since he or she “has more name recognition than others in the cast.”  This means, the network is not likely to release such a valuable asset.  Last but not the least, the actor could easily be revived from an end-of-season death if he or she stays on the show.

BuddyTV’s Meghan Carlson already trimmed the mystery down to four people: Masi Oka, Hayden Panettiere, Ali Larter, and Milo Ventimiglia.  But most recently, Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Ausiello narrowed down the search even more.

Apparently, Ausiello is referring to either Hayden Panettiere or Ali Larter.  The actress’ dissatisfaction reportedly comes from lack of camera time and is asking to be let go of his or her contract at the end of the season.  And in order for that to happen, a death scene has reportedly been written for the actor’s character at the conclusion of the season.  On the other hand, that might not just happen.

“I can confirm that one of those actresses has indeed asked to be released from her contract.  But I hear NBC is unlikely to allow it, Ausiello hinted.

If discussions don’t work out and the said actress is retained, writers would have to cleverly plot the actress’ return, which shouldn’t be a big problem given Claire’s regeneration abilities and Tracy’s twin powers.

Like most Heroes fans, I also think that Ali Larter is the blonde in question.  Her departure wouldn’t really have a significant impact on the show.  What do you think?
