August 10, 2009:

The first five episode titles of the Redemption Volume have been released:

Episode 1 - "Orientation"
Episode 2 - "Jump, Push, Fall"
Episode 3 - "Acceptance"
Episode 4 - "Ink"
Episode 5 - 'Hysterical Blindness"

Cristine Rose, who plays Heroes matriarch Angela Petrelli, told Eonline.com, "I just read episode 4.03 and--oh, I get chills just thinking about it--I learned that 20 years ago or so, I made a decision that is going to come to back to bite me in my rear end. Angela tries her best, but she keeps screwing up. Oh well, she stays afloat with a sense of humor and a glass of wine."

August 6, 2009:

Eonline.com hints about the "triangle twist."

"The whole premise of Zachary [Quinto], myself and Greg [Grunberg] having an interesting triangle of behavior," Adrian Pasdar said. "In the process of Matt crushing Sylar and having my body become his, Sylar entered Matt, so there's a soul that's missing in me. It's my own Nathan behavior that's manifesting itself through Sylar. There's a triangle that makes itself clear by the third episode."

"When I did the mind transfer, it didn't go clean," Greg Grunberg added. "Some of him stayed in me and he needs me. He's looking for his body, he needs his body back and he'll do anything to do that, including kidnapping my son. He's kind of hanging around in my subconscious, making me do things that I don't want to do. I have to catch myself. I can't get rid of him, so I decide to ignore him. But you can't ignore Sylar for very long."

Hayden Panettiere dishes on The Company's rival:

"Carnival is the opposite of what the Company was. The Company wanted to hide us and our abilities. They wanted to keep it under wraps. The Carnival is the opposite where they want people to know about it."

James Kyson Lee spills on new business venture and Hiro's condition:

"Ando and Hiro are going to start up a new business venture. It's going to keep us busy. Sept. 21 you will see a huge billboard. I am for hire, romance for hire. Hiro has a bucket list because he's dying. Ando is trying to change that, but we'll see. There's a whole theme of 'Can you really mess with fate?' in our show. Sometimes you can change history, sometimes you can't."

July 7, 2009:

Heroes season 4 will lose a cast member, according to Eonline.com's Kristin Dos Santos, who has revealed: "We're increasingly certain that a beloved, original castmember is leaving Heroes for good before the end of the coming season."

June 29, 2009:

NBC has announced the much awaited Heroes season 4 will kick off its Redemption volume with a two-hour episode on Monday, September 21. Heroes will continue in its regular 8pm timeslot the following Monday followed by the premiere of Trauma at 9pm.

June 17, 2009:

Former "Battlestar Galactica" star Rick Worthy is in talks to play Matt Parkman's (Greg Grunberg) new partner: an experienced and capable Los Angeles cop and mentor to Matt.

June 10, 2009:

According to IGN, Claire (Hayden Panettiere) may become involved in some girl-on-girl action this season. This speculation comes on the heels of Days of our Lives actress Rachel Melvin joining Heroes as the character Annie, who will also "share sleeping quarters (and maybe more) with Claire."

June 4, 2009:

Michael Ausiello got the scoop:
British actor Ray Park, who played Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace, is in talks to join Heroes as "one of the colorful characters at the center of the show's Carnivale-esque storyline," possibly "The Knife Thrower."

Prison Break star Robert Knepper, has also signed on to appear as Samuel, previous referred to as the "Carnival Barker" in previous releases.

Madeline Zuma, who currently stars in Showtime's Californication, has joined Heroes season 4 as the character Gretchen, an "edgy outsider" who'll spend college life with that beleaguered cheerleader Claire.

And: Deanne Bray (Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, The L Word) forging a deal to come on board for multiple episodes on Heroes. She would play the deaf love interest of one of major players. (From the descriptions below, sounds like Peter's "powerful" woman.)

June 3, 2009:

In an email to Heroes All Access members, Heroes creator Tim Kring laid out the basics for several story arcs that will take place in Season 4, "Redemption":

Peter Petrelli: Peter returns to his life as a paramedic, and has essentially cut himself off from the rest of the Heroes. His isolation ends when he falls for a woman described as "fascinating" and "powerful". Powerful is in quotes, so it is possible that she is superpowered or "powerfully" wealthy.

Nathan Petrelli: He will be still discovering new things about himself because... well, he's really Sylar, and not really Nathan.

Matt Parkman: After wiping Sylar's mind and turning him into Nathan, Matt isn't sure he can live with what he's done. This turns into an "impossible" home life with his wife and son.

The New Company: Angela Petrelli and HRG form a new, gentler version of the Company and they're joined by Tracy Strauss. Building 26 serial killer Tracy Strauss will be joining this new Company, and will help confront another organization out there who is also recruiting Heroes. This new organization's recruiting process is being described as "fascinating, dangerous and potentially deadly".

E! Online reports that Hiro's (Masi Oka) bloody noses and headaches will not go away any time soon on season 4.  In fact, it's going to be a cause for speculation on if we're going to lose another hero soon.

More information about the hearing impaired character who will play a love interest for one of the Heroes: character name is Emma, she will appear in Episode 4.03, age 25-28, female, attractive, smart and sensitive. A love interest for series lead. Hearing impaired only. Recurring guest star. This role will be in several episodes.

More information about Claire's college roommate:
she's rumored to be portrayed  by actress Madeline Zima (The Nanny). We've learned that her character, Gretchen, is a "quirky outsider" who boards with Claire during her stay at a Washington D.C.-area college. Zima will be showing up in a multi-episode arc. Claire's college days will apparently be eventful and suspenseful. Besides the impending divorce of her adopted parents HRG and Sandra, someone on campus dies, and the death draws her in. No word if that death is Zima's Gretchen.

May 28, 2009:

  • Matt Parkman will get a new partner, who will be a "mentor" in the "Andre Braugher" vein.
  • Claire will also be getting a roommate, rumored to be the show's "own Ellen Page."
  • Creator Tim Kring and company are currently looking for a 20-something actress to play a love interest for one of the main Heroes in season 4 (Peter? Please?). The character will be introduced in the 4th episode of Season 4 and... here's where it gets interesting: auditioning actresses need to be hearing impaired.
  • Zachary Quinto WILL BE coming back for season 4. Sylar is rumored to be present in what's described as "a very Fight Club-esque way." (Meaning: he'll be there inside his/Nathan's mind, probably even appearing physically in vision-form.)
  • More Heroes deaths will occur, and a few characters may be resurrected in the process... but not Sylar.
  • The show is planning to introduce a mysterious new villain.
  • Tracy's watery revenge arc will serve as a focal point of next fall's "Redemption" volume.
  • Bryan Fuller says that, "The Hiro story for season four is the best story we've ever come up with for Hiro. It's so emotional and exciting and adventurous."

3 Sneak Peeks and 3 Cast Interviews of Heroes Season 3 Finale, "An Invisible Thread"

April 20, 2009:

Bryan Fuller on Season 4, "Redemption." From E! Online: "According to Bryan Fuller it really will be a brave new era for the show. Bryan tells us, "Fugitives was such a dark chapter in the history of Heroes, so we look at Redemption as a unifying theme for next season. We're going to see redemption for all of the characters in one respect or another. Our goal going into season four is taking every character and making that character's story evolve into an entire series. We just want the smorgasbord of Heroes to be as satisfying for everybody." Smorgasbord or no, among those Heroes getting a special treatment next year is Masi Oka's Hiro Nakamura. Bryan Fuller says that, "The Hiro story for season four is the best story we've ever come up with for Hiro. It's so emotional and exciting and adventurous."

Tim Kring on Where Season 4 Will Take Us.
From E! Online: Based of the success of last week's "1961" episode, look for lots more in season four about young Angela, Alice and the rest of the Company founders in their idealistic youth. Says Kring, "We didn't plan on it until we saw how good '1961' came out. We all fell in love with those actors who were playing the younger versions of them. We are devising season four to go back to that timeframe, since lots of interesting things happened at the beginning of the formation of the Company. I found it a really effective way to dig into the mythology of the show."

Long before Season 3 was wrapped, the Heroes writers were hard at work on Season 4, show writer Bryan Fuller told EW's Michael Ausiello: "We've spent a lot of time in the writers room talking about what season 4 is going to look like," he said. "Basically, the last act of episode 25, similar to what's been done in the past, opens up a new chapter of Heroes. It sets up arcs for a variety of characters."

He even disclosed a bit about where fans can expect the show's focus to go next fall:

"We set all the pieces up in terms of Claire's attitude and what her trajectory is going to be in season 4. You will have a very strong idea by the end of this season's final episode where Claire is going and what's going to be happening with the Petrellis."

The finale of Heroes Volume 4 "Fugitives," airs April 27, 2009 at 9 PM on NBC.
