Earlier this month, we reported that Brea Grant, who recently appeared on Friday Night Lights as Jean Binnel, is joining the cast of Heroes next season. She’ll be playing a super-fast girl but instead of portraying a character named Joy, the 26-year-old actress will now be playing a Speedster named Daphne.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Grant hints on what to expect from her mysterious character when she debuts on the third season of Heroes on Monday, September 15.

Grant doesn’t know a lot about her character on the popular NBC series.  She’s not even sure where Daphne is from.  She reveals, however, that Daphne has been on her own for quite some time and she plans to give time traveler Hiro and his sidekick Ando a run for their money.

“I’m stealing a secret that’s been kept in Hiro’s family for a long time that he’s just now found,” Brea Grant told The Associated Press.  “He stops time right as I grab it, but in that second it took him to grab it, I almost make it out of the office.”

Daphne’s superpower enables her to run at three speeds and lash out a supersonic wake in her path when Hiro stops time.

“Her character is supposed to be Hiro’s Joker,” Masi Oka, who plays Hiro, said of Grant.  “Batman has The Joker.  Hiro has Daphne.  This is the season where Hiro finally finds his arch nemesis, and it happens to be this Speedster.  I kind of equate it more to Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, except Daphne says more than ‘meep-meep.'”

Aside from Hiro, Grant also hopes to come to blows with other super humans.

“I hope to be in some battle with the other Heroes, whether it’s with them, against them, whatever,” she said.
