The March 31 episode of Grey’s Anatomy would be an important one even if it wasn’t the big musical episode. This week the show ended with a tragic car accident involving Callie and Arizona shortly after Arizona asked her six-months pregnant girlfriend to marry her.

The next episode picks up right where the show left off, with Arizona fine but Callie in serious trouble. Grey’s Anatomy is no stranger to having its doctors become the patients, and with Callie and her baby’s lives on the line, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

But then you add music. That’s right, Callie’s injuries cause an out-of-body hallucinatory experience that results in the characters breaking into song as her life hangs in the balance. Obviously star Sara Ramirez will take on a large part of the singing, since she is a Tony-winning Broadway star from Monty Python’s Spamalot.

The musical event will feature eight songs, all featured on past episodes of Grey’s Anatomy. Here’s the complete set list:

“Breathe (2am)” by Anna Nalick
“Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol
“Grace” by Kate Havnevik
“How to Save a Life” by The Fray
“Running on Sunshine” by Jesus Jackson
“How We Operate” by Gomez
“The Story” by Brandi Carlile
“Cosy in the Rocket” by Psapp (the Grey’s Anatomy theme song)

If eight songs and Callie’s life hanging in the balance isn’t enough, the episode will also feature the return of Kate Walsh as Dr. Addison Montgomery, which makes sense since Callie’s baby will probably need all the help it can get.

The Grey’s Anatomy music event, “Song Beneath the Song,” airs Thursday, March 31 at 9pm on ABC.
