The people over at US Weekly are reporting that Taylor Momsen, 15, was hospitalized earlier this week for a life-threatening illness. Evidently, there weren’t even whispers of the Gossip Girl actress’ illness until she was released earlier today. She had spent three nights in the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Taylor Momsen’s doctor, Shawn Nasseri, came forward to announce, “She has been hospitalized for a severe, potentially life-threatening throat infection since Sunday.” No details were released about the specifics of her maladies, but I assume this is due to the physician client privilege.

Momsen plays Little Jenny Humphrey on the popular teen soap, Gossip Girl. Recently, Little J has been taking the fashion world by storm. Likewise, the actress has been noted for her own fashion sense, which is impressive at such a young age, especially when she has to compete with Hannah Montana herself, Miley Cyrus.

How could four days go by without anyone reporting that my favorite little Taylor Momsen was severely ill? I suppose it’s because Momsen was in Los Angles and not New York. She was in LA to take a school exam and when she was feeling a bit under the weather, she decided to consult an ear, nose & throat specialist before leaving. It’s a good thing she did. Her doctor says, “after aggressive antibiotics and medications, she is expected to make a full recovery in the next three to five days” Her mom is currently with her in LA and they will be flying back to New York later this week.

The next episode of Gossip Girl is all about Momsen’s character Little J. Jenny and Eleanor Waldorf go head to head over Jenny’s designs. After Jenny’s face-off with Blair last season, I’m betting that Eleanor doesn’t stand a chance. Hopefully, Taylor will be feeling better in time to bask in her character’s inevitable triumph.
