Here we go again, Gleeks! Ryan Murphy changes his mind yet again when he said that there would only be one tribute episode this season. It has already been confirmed that the January 31 episode would pay tribute to the music of Michael Jackson. When we believed there would only be one, I was excited that they decided to go with the King of Pop. And if they're only doing one, then why not him, right?
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
But now TV Guide is reporting
that there will be a second tribute episode coming up in April. They've taken on Madonna, Britney Spears, Fleetwood Mac's Rumours
album, and soon to be Michael Jackson. This time around, Glee
will be stayin' alive to the tune of the Bee Gees...or more specifically, their Saturday Night Fever
Show creator Ryan Murphy told TV Guide, "We've never done disco on the show, but I'm interested in the genius of The Bee Gees."
Since Murphy has already changed his mind on stunt casting, could we perhaps get a case of night fever with a certain someone named John Travolta? Murphy continues, "I would ask him. Travolta and Cory Monteith became close friends at a party when Cory told him he'd seen Broken Arrow
20 times. Travolta sent him an autographed copy of the DVD. So maybe we'll have them dance in a Finn dream sequence."
April is so close to the end of the season and, more important, graduation, so do we really need to be wasting an episode with possible dream sequences? How can you mend a broken heart, indeed? (Must get song title puns out of my head.)
I'm not saying this'll be a bad episode; it could very well turn out to be fabulous. I have the Saturday Night Fever
soundtrack on my iPod, and I love listening to this music. Because of that, I am still excited to see how this episode turns out. I think we all just love giving Ryan Murphy a hard time, am I right?
What do you think about this news, Gleeks? Do you think Ryan Murphy is going way overboard at this point? Or are you already humming "You Should Be Dancing" in your head?
