Previously, BuddyTV reported of a sex tape featuring KISS frontman and Gene Simmons Family Jewels star Gene Simmons and a woman who is not his longtime partner, Shannon Tweed.  Since the tape was first made public, several reports regarding a variety of issues – from the identity of the woman to what is being done on the legal front – have been circulating, with TMZ reporting that Simmons’ legal team has ordered the website responsible for promoting the video to cease and desist because of copyright infringement.  Simmons’ lawyers apparently reasoned the site has no right to promote the video through face paint, because face paint is a KISS trademark.

Amidst these reports, Gene Simmons has posted several messages on his personal website addressing the sex tape, which he has deemed “garbage.”  Last week, he told fans that his “legal team is looking at all ramifications and options,” and thanked them for “all the kind words of support.”  The rocker also said that Shannon, and their two children Nick Tweed-Simmons and Sophie Tweed-Simmons, are “happy and healthy” and that “all is well” in the household.

On Monday, Simmons posted another message, this time saying that most of the “garbage” have been “diminished” or “have disappeared,” and noted that the video was made without his knowledge.

“[It] is a page from my past,” he said of the video.  “It happened and there’s nothing I can do to repair that.  The black and white footage may have been decades old.”

The Family Jewels star also said that the person/s behind the video has been pursuing them for quite some time now, hoping to extort some money.

“The entity behind the garbage has repeatedly tried to make money off of this and we have always refused,” he explained.  “This is not the first time the entity has tried to blackmail and extort us. We have always refused and we will continue to refuse.  I’m told the legal team has been tracking down the parties involved and they will be dealt with appropriately.”

Gene Simmons ended his post by re-declaring his love for his family, saying that Gene Simmons Family Jewels, which will premiere its third season on March 11, is evidence of their loving relationship.

“We have a tv show, but the people in the show are real and the love you see between us is real,” he said.
