Previously, it was reported that actress Jobeth Williams is appearing in the second season of Dexter as the suspicious mother of Rita Bennett (Julie Benz).  However, viewers can also expect to see other fresh faces when the crime drama series returns this fall.

British actress Jamie Murray will play an artist named Lila next season.  A recovering addict, Murray’s Lila becomes a close ally and friend to lead character Dexter Morgan, played by Golden Globe nominee Michael C. Hall.  Moreover, Lila is said to be a wild and intelligent individual who is governed by her own rules.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jamie Murray is set to appear in at least 10 of the 12 episodes comprising the show’s second season.

The actress, who will turn 30 on July 21, was most recently seen as Stacie Monroe, the beautiful and seductive con artist, on BBC’s Hustle.  Jamie Murray has tried hard to break into American television this year.  Before landing her role on Dexter, she co-starred in Demons, a CBS pilot that failed to make the network’s schedule.  Her other acting credits include Love Soup, The Taming of the Shrew and Casualty.

Aside from Williams and Murray, Academy-Award winning actor Keith Carradine has also landed a role on the show.  According to Zap2it, Carradine will play an FBI Agent who meets Dexter when the FBI goes to Miami to investigate a rash of dead bodies in the city.

Keith Carradine is slated to appear in 11 episodes.  The 57-year-old actor won an Oscar in 1976 for his original song, “I’m Easy.”  More recently, he starred in ABC’s Complete Savages and portrayed Wild Bill Hickok in HBO’s Deadwood.

Aside from being a recipient of an Oscar, Keith Carradine is also Tony Award nominated actor.  His performance in the musical, Will Rogers Follies, earned him that recognition.

The second season of Dexter will premiere on September 30 at 9pm on Showtime.
