Even though the sixth season of
Dancing with the Stars only just concluded with
Kristi Yamaguchi and
Mark Ballas crowned as the latest champs, the seventh season of the ballroom dance show is beginning in only three short months. Already, washed-up stars from the days of yore are coming out of the woodwork to lobby for a chance to appear in front of the cameras again.
Hollyscoop reports recently that former child star turned meth-head turned mom
Jodie Sweetin is dying to go on ABC's juggernaut reality show. Hollyscoop also reports that
Paula Abdul really wants to be on the show and that Tara Reid is considering an offer of joining the cast.
Jodie Sweetin, who played spunky Stephanie Tanner on
Full House, was also recently featured in an article in
People Magazine. In the article, she coos about her new baby Zoie. "You look at your baby and think, 'Wow, I did that.' It's really amazing," she said.
Tara Reid really hasn't been up to very much lately, and a stint on
Dancing with the Stars might actually boost her public perception, if she stayed on the show long enough. The problem is, she would probably be a terrible dancer, so she wouldn't get enough air time to reap any benefits.
As for Paula Abdul, despite her vocal lobbying to get on the show, it's unlikely that she will ever appear on
Dancing with the Stars. Hollyscoop reports that Nigel Lithgoe, the producer of
American Idol, doesn't want one of his Idol judges appearing on another network.
Who would you most like to see on
Dancing with the Stars? A natural choice, in my mind, would be Charisma Carpenter. A few other guest stars from
Veronica Mars –
Steve Guttenberg,
Harry Hamlin and
Lisa Rinna – have also appeared on
Dancing, so why not Charisma too? And since athletes tend to do amazingly well, I'd also like to see John McEnroe as well. I would love to see him get into a shouting match with Len Goodman and maybe throw a shoe at him or something.
Which D-List celebrity would you like to see learn how to tango and foxtrot? Leave a comment with your suggestion.
