As we come to the final act in this Broadway Week on Dancing with the Stars, it’s time to ask: Which season 13 competitor will take his or her final bow tonight? Will a dancing star come plummeting to Earth? Or will the theater go dark for a struggling performer? We will find out on Dancing with the Stars: The Results Show!

Note: The above paragraph pretty much used up my store of Broadway-related phraseology. Thank goodness.

Prior to results-time, we must — as always — check on our predictions to see who the lovely readers of BuddyTV think is up for elimination in week 6. According to the BuddyTV Readers’ Poll, it will be a close one this week. The largest number of voters (44 percent) picked Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer as the most likely couple for elimination. However, almost as many (41 percent) went with Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

It would probably be interesting to check out predictions against the actual results over a several-week period. It would probably also be depressing. Thus, I will not do that. Instead, let’s get to the show!

In addition to many, many results over the course of the night, viewers can look forward to/fast-forward through several musical performances. Kristin Chenoweth will return for an encore, and Martina McBride will also perform. The big dance number of the night will be a “Macy’s Stars of Dance” Broadway homage choreographed by Kenny Ortega and featuring Corbin Bleu.

Oh, the puns… I’d be happy to get rid of theme nights if it meant the end of the puns.

What I’m happy to not get rid of is an encore performance! I’ve missed these. This week, it’s (not surprisingly) J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff reprising their kind of amazing quickstep. J.R. could actually pull off Broadway in real life. That would be neat.

Before Broadway, however, there must be RESULTS. J.R. and Karina get their outcome in a solo fashion for some reason. And…

J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff are SAFE!!!

Although the presence of a bunch of stars indicates that more results are imminent, it’ll still be awhile. Instead, Kristin Chenoweth is performing again. Because I paid no attention to the intro, I have no idea if this is a Broadway tune or something from Chenoweth’s country album. While it doesn’t sound too country, I’m thinking album anyway. Unless that’s wrong.

Yep, it’s from the album. Also, Kristin Chenoweth is ridiculously cute and lovely. She needs to be on every show all of the time.

But I’ll happily trade Kristin Chenoweth for more RESULTS. This time, the couples on the hot seat are Ricki and Derek and Nancy and Tristan.

Ricki Lake and Derek Hough are SAFE!!!

Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus are SAFE!!!

Since we can’t have too many results all at once, the show will now devote itself to the “Macy’s Stars of Dance” number with Corbin Bleu. Apparently, the theme is the streets of Broadway. It includes songs from 42nd Street, West Side Story (yay!) and (I’m guessing) In the Heights.

Definitely a streets-ahead performance.

The Broadway thing is followed by the country thing. That would be Martina McBride this week. Singing about cancer? Yikes. Sad topic…

This brings more RESULTS to the show. This time it’s David and Kym, Chaz and Lacey waiting for their fate.

David Arquette and Kym Johnson are SAFE!!!

But…

Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer remain in jeopardy.

Back to the filler performances, Mark Ballas and Lacey Schwimmer have shown up to lead a bunch of dancing kids in what might be the scariest thing ever seen on Dancing with the Stars. The song might be from The Nightmare Before Christmas. It might not. It’s been awhile. Wherever it’s from, seriously disturbing (but well-danced!).

We’re now up to the time when Rob and Cheryl, Hope and Maks get their initial RESULTS. Although, considering there’s only one couple in jeopardy thus far, I would imagine that both couples will start off in jeopardy before the final results.

LilRobS13W6.jpg

Or maybe they’re only going with two couples for the final results. Because…

Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke are SAFE!!!

Meanwhile, Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy remain in jeopardy.

And, with all of the filler in our pasts, it’s finally time for the last RESULTS of the night. Will it be Chaz or Hope going home?

And…

Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are SAFE!!!

Which means

Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer have been eliminated from Dancing with the Stars!!!

Is it weird that this result is something of a surprise? Although, barring total craziness, it had to happen at some point.
