Danny and Lindsay Have a Pleasant Surprise on 'CSI: NY'

The fifth season of CSI: NY recently began airing and the show picked up from where it left off last season, with Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) taken hostage by a bank robber, only to be left submerged in a car with no recollection of the events prior to his kidnapping.  While Mac may have escaped, the rest of the team are still puzzled as to who is behind the intricate crime that managed to fool them into thinking that Doug was responsible for the murder of the bank manager.

Recently, another surprising twist was made known by Entertainment Weekly, who reports that something really good is coming up for CSI: NY’s Danny (Carmine Giovinazzo) and Lindsay (Anna Belknap).

EW confirms that Belknap’s real-life pregnancy will be written into the show’s fifth season.  In fact, fans will be delighted to know that Belknap’s Lindsay is indeed carrying the spawn of Giovinazzo’s Danny.

"Lindsay will be pregnant and clearly, Danny is the father," reveals executive producer Pam Veasey.  "We're not going to be so typical about it.  They're both happy about it, but it is unexpected."

Moreover, Giovinazzo recently spoke to TV Guide, sharing his thoughts on Danny and Lindsay’s relationship, saying that “It's funny to me, the perceptions and feelings about that, because Danny has been courting Lindsay for it seems like 2-1/2 seasons.  It got to a point where I was like, 'Would I really continue to go after her like this?  After I've been a stand-up a guy trying to break through?'  Then they had her story come out, showing what was holding her back.”

Additionally, fans are still debating whether or not Danny is sneaking around and hiding something up his sleeve.  Giovinazzo rests the case by saying, “I think he's flawed.  He's definitely not a snake.  He's a good guy, definitely.”

The soon-to-be-father also says that compared to Mac and Flack, Danny is more of a softie, with people often commenting on his b---, or lack thereof.  Giovinazzo says that it’s one of the best parts of playing the character, adding that “he gets to express himself and be the one that people can relate to a bit, or at least riles them up a bit.  He goes through more of the human emotions you don't normally see a cop go through.”

On tonight’s episode of CSI: NY titled “Turbulence,” an air marshal is found murdered on board a plane heading to Washington, D.C. Mac is on the plane and he is convinced that the killer is among the passengers.  Nelly guest stars on tonight’s CSI: NY, which airs at 10pm on CBS.
