Things have been busy in the world of Chuck lately. While the show is currently in production for its fifth episode of season 5 (click here for lots of details and spoilers about that episode), a whole lot more is going on as well. A sexy new CIA nemesis has been cast, and one of Chuck‘s stars has shown up in a web series cameo.

Rebecca Romijn to Menace Our Heroes
According to a report from EW.com, Rebecca Romijn has been cast as Robyn Cunnings, a CIA agent who will bring trouble to Carmichael Industries later this season. The character is described as cold, calculating and sexy, and Cunnings will be an expert in some impressively terrifying forms of torture.

Why is she coming to Burbank? Even though Team Bartowski has cut ties with the CIA, they’re hardly off that agency’s radar. Robin Cunnings is expected to be a member of a rogue group within the CIA out to frame Chuck for a major crime.

What crime? Could this frame-job be the conspiracy quickly alluded to at the end of season 4? How much of a problem will this be for Chuck and friends?

I have no clue.

Zachary Levi Joins the Nerdy Masses on The Guild
The current season of the web series known as The Guild takes place at a Comic-Con, thus necessitating the presence of the geek glitterati. Earlier episodes of the season have featured such beloved nerd luminaries as Nathan Fillion, Brent Spiner and Neil Gaiman.

This week’s episode, “Social Traumas,” however, has pulled out all the stops when it comes to celebrity guest casting. And Chuck‘s own Zachary Levi is among them. Check out the episode below:

In case you haven’t been following this season of The Guild, two of the main characters, Bladezz and Vork, managed to get themselves invited to a celebrity party. Obviously, they have no idea of how to behave.

Zachary Levi is but one of the many members of the nerd pantheon in attendance at the party. He is joined in subdued revelry by Eliza Dushku (of Dollhouse and Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame), Rick Fox (her actual boyfriend and a recent Dancing with the Stars competitor), Colin Ferguson (Eureka), Dichen Lachman (Dollhouse and Torchwood: Miracle Day) and Tom Lenk (Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

Some highlights of the Zachary Levi bits:

  • Surfing dog pictures on a cell phone! How can that not be adorable?
  • What exactly is “Pets Without Borders?” Is this a charity I can donate money to?
  • If you ever dreamed of seeing Tom Lenk and Zachary Levi discussing dog collars, this is your chance.
