FOX is gearing up for a big fall, with a week of premieres following its
broadcast of the Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 18.
The X Factor will
take up a large chunk of the schedule with two-hour episodes on
Wednesdays and Thursdays for six whole weeks. This means the seventh
season of
Bones, which will be shortened due to star Emily Deschanel's
pregnancy, won't start until November.
The premieres begin Tuesday, September 20 with the start of
Glee's third season and the premiere of the new Zooey Deschanel sitcom,
New Girl.
The X Factor begins its reign Wednesday, September 21.
Sunday animation starts September 25 with
The Simpsons,
The Cleveland Show,
Family Guy and
American Dad, but starting October 30,
The Cleveland Show moves to 7:30pm to make room for the new series
Allen Gregory.
The dinosaur epic
Terra Nova gets a two-hour series premiere on Monday, September 26 before cutting back to one hour the following week to be joined by
House.
Bones fans will have to wait until November 3 for the start of the show's seventh season, which will start with a handful of episodes before going on a winter hiatus due to Deschanel's maternity leave.
Finally, the new comedy
I Hate My Teenage Daughter will be held back until Wednesday, November 23 at 9:30pm when
The X Factor trims down to 90-minute episodes. I have to think that premiering the night before Thanksgiving isn't the best timing since many people will be traveling or baking pies.
