By now you’re probably counting the hours leading to the 100th episode of Bones with high expectations and I don’t blame you. FOX has heavily promoted the milestone installment with photos, clips and teasers while the cast and crew have granted several interviews that could only imply that “The Parts in the Sum of the Whole” is nothing short of special. But I’m here to tell you not to raise the bar too high because while the episode offers a big leap in the “will they, won’t they” premise of the show, the last scene will ultimately split fans. Click here to find out why.

Spoiler Warning: Details about the 100th episode are revealed after the jump.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock these past few weeks then you’re already aware that “The Parts in the Sum of the Whole” flashes back to the Brennan and Booth’s first meeting, which takes place at American University where Brennan was giving a lecture. And right off the bat, you can tell that there’s undeniable chemistry between the forensic anthropologist and the FBI agent even when they’re disagreeing about the subject of bones or fate. See clip here.

Bones Season 5 Spoilers

Not much has changed in the present day since Booth and Brennan still don’t see eye to eye on a lot of things including the errors on Sweets’ book. While Brennan points out a factual error on Sweets’ account of how they first met, Booth points out Sweets’ misinterpretation at the end of his book that Booth and Brennan are in love— something that doesn’t seem to bother Brennan at all.

Things Get Steamy for the 100th Episode of Bones

Meanwhile, the 100th episode of Bones also features the highly anticipated return of Zach though fans should note that he’ll only be appearing in flashbacks. Still, it’s interesting to see that Zach and Hodgins weren’t always buds, as hinted by TV Guide.
