After emerging victorious as the first plus-size model to win America’s Next Top Model Cycle 10, Whitney Thompson has continued to establish herself in the industry.  She’s appeared on a number of runway shows, graced several magazines, as well as launched her own line of beauty products.

Now, she’s taking a stride and has chosen to be on V Magazine‘s issue entirely dedicated to plus-size models.  The New York Post reports that the reality TV star will be joining the campaign in embracing models of all sizes, which is what the publication is pushing for.

“Big, little, pint-size, plus-size — every body is beautiful. And this issue is out to prove it,” exclaimed V Magazine editor-in-chief Stephen Gan.

It’s definitely a big step for the industry, which was catapulted by Glamour magazine when they featured a plus-size model Lizzie Miller nude on its front cover.  This was even followed by the controversial decision of Mark Fast to have full-figured models work the runway for his spring collection in September.

V Magazine’s plus-size model issue will feature not only Whitney Thompson, of course, but a number of notable personalities as well.  Some of these are Mia Tyler, Kate Dillon, Crystal Renn, and Hayley Morley.

The shoots featured in the magazine will range from nude to fully dressed, in a variety of styles as well.  Of all the designs that will be featured, the highlights include those by Terry Richardson, Bruce Weber and Karl Lagerfeld.

Since her America’s Next Top Model win, things have definitely been exciting for Whitney Thompson.  According to a report by First Coast News, she’s just launched her own business.  It’s her very own line of beauty essentials, like jewelry and wax used as massage moisture.  She also has an array of scented candles for sale, and all can be bought at a store at First Street in Neptune Beach.

But if you’d much rather see Whitney Thompson model, don’t forget to catch her on the January 2010 issue of V Magazine.
