Last month, a rumor surfaced that a former Guiding Light star might be headed to Port Charles to play a still uncertain yet pivotal role on General Hospital.  At the time, the actor was said to be Tom Pelphrey, best known for his role as Jonathan Randall, the son of Reva Shayne and her late former husband, Richard Winslow, on the CBS soap opera.  Recently, however, another soap actor has been rumored to play the much talked about role on General Hospital and he comes in the form of Emmy winner David Lago.

The former star of The Young and the Restless is said to have landed the role of Dante, Sonny’s son with Olivia.  On the other hand, a General Hospital spokesperson had no comment so at this point, there’s no confirmation on the said character or the actor who’s been cast to play the role.

Aside from playing Raul Guittierez on The Young and the Restless from 1999 to 2004, where he was for a Daytime Emmy Award in 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2004, before finally winning in 2005, his last year on the soap, Lago had a recurring role on 7th Heaven as the character Jeremy.  He also starred as Josh Johnson on the TV series Hollywood Safari before being cast in several big screen projects including A Couple of Days and Nights, Dead in the Water, Artistic License, Hollywood Horror and Obsidere, just to name a few.

Most recently, Lago signed on to join the cast of The Commune, a thriller movie about a 16-year-old girl who visits her estranged father’s Commune and discovers about New Age mysticism.  Next year, he’ll be starring in Mariusz Kotowski’s Deeper and Deeper, twisty tale of psychological suspense about a neurotic, but charming young man’s obsession with a beautiful career-driven woman whom he stalks.
