The Tremont Hotel is a mysterious and thrilling place for Griffin Campbell and his new best friend, Harper Dunn, to explore. They frequently travel across time in this American drama that’s been called the “Stranger Things” show for middle schoolers. Come along on a spooky adventure with us as we talk about the hit Disney series, “Secrets of Sulphur Springs,” including everything you need to know about the next season.

What Is the TV Series “Secrets of Sulphur Springs” About?

Things look pretty grim when 12-year-old Griffin Campbell’s family moves from Chicago to an abandoned hotel in Louisiana. Griffin finds himself far from his friends and the bustle of Chicago, living in the dilapidated Tremont Hotel while his dad fixes it up.

To make matters worse, the whole town of Sulphur Springs is convinced that the place is haunted by Savannah Dillon, a girl who disappeared from the Tremont summer camp thirty years ago. Not to spoil anything, but weird stuff starts happening.

Local Harper Dunn befriends Griffin, and after they discover a secret portal that enables time travel, the two become obsessed with solving Savannah’s disappearance. In season one, they try to figure out what happened to Savannah and if there’s any way to save her.

Things get spookier in season two as paranormal activities increase at the Tremont. The Campbell family is busy preparing to reopen the hotel to guests, while Harper attempts to unlock secrets from her own family’s past and their connection to the hotel. She comes to believe the answers she needs can be found in the 1930s, at the time when her great-grandmother Daisy was at the Tremont. Savannah also returns to try to help Griffin and Harper uncover more secrets of Sulphur Springs.

Where Was “Secrets of Sulphur Springs” Filmed?

The TV show “Secrets of Sulphur Springs” is set in fictitious Sulphur Springs, Louisiana. The first and second seasons were filmed in and around New Orleans, Louisiana. St. Bernard Parish, home of the famous Creedmoor Plantation, stood in for Sulphur Springs with some filming actually taking place on plantation grounds.

According to a Disney spokesperson, interior shots were mostly filmed on sound stages. They also let loose some secrets about the fictional Tremont Hotel. Apparently, the hotel scenes aren’t all shot in one location, and the Tremont hotel is half real and half digitally created. The spokesperson, however, declined to provide specific filming locations, which sounds a bit suspicious, but it was just because of security concerns.
