The BAU family is growing — in a way. Criminal Minds is writing in Jennifer Love Hewitt‘s pregnancy, and that officially happens in “Breath Play.”

This episode sees the team travel to Wisconsin to find a serial killer, and the profilers look for a connection among the victims for clues. Meanwhile, Kate’s having trouble dealing with her niece, Meg, when she begins acting out.

It looks like UnSub ties his victims to their beds, and so the preview calls his fantasy “50 shades of pain.” According to Garcia, it’s a “sex game gone bad.”

Check out a sneak peek to see Kate talking to Meg about her pregnancy:

Meg’s not taking the news of Kate’s pregnancy well at all, going so far as to compare their home to a prison. That’s more than a bit extreme. “We’re changing our dynamic, but no one’s going anywhere,” Kate assures her as she calls the pregnancy a good thing. “Nothing that’s happened to you has been fair, and I know that, but I also know that you are the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me and you are going to be an amazing big sister. An addition to our family is not a replacement, okay?” Unfortunately, her words don’t seem to work since Meg hangs up on her.

“The fact that she and Chris decide to have a baby rocks Meg a little bit,” executive producer Erica Messer told TVGuide.com when she explained Kate’s niece’s behavior. “Even though she’s been raised by amazing people, there’s an underlying abandonment since her parents were killed when she was very young. She’s trying to deal with that and being 13 and navigate the world and see her place in it.”

Criminal Minds season 10 airs Wednesdays at 9pm on CBS.

If it’s on TV — especially if it’s a procedural or superhero show — chances are Meredith watches it. She has a love for all things fiction, starting from a young age with ER and The X-Files on the small screen and the Nancy Drew books. Arrow kicked off the Arrowverse and her true passion for all things heroes. She’s enjoyed getting into the minds of serial killers since Criminal Minds, so it should be no surprise that her latest obsession is Prodigal Son.
