This is some very sad news. TMZ is reporting that an America’s Got Talent contestant, whose episode has yet to air, has died. 29-year-old doctor Brandon Rogers, who auditioned on the show as a singer, died on Sunday following a deadly car crash.

EXCLUSIVE: Big Brother Alum Nick Uhas Talks Returning to TV for America’s Got Talent>>> Rodgers had a little brush with fame before America’s Got Talent. The doctor was discovered by producers when they found a video of him covering the Boys II Men song “On Bended Knee.” The video in question, embedded below, went so viral that it caught the attention of Boys II Men themselves.

Earlier this year Rodgers was invited by Boys II Men to sing with them on stage. Rodgers posted a video of the performance on his Instagram account, writing, “This past weekend has been nothing short of amazing!! Sharing the stage with my idols…literally a dream come true!! Thank you SO much to 3 of the dopest most insanely talented singers ever.”

It has not been reported how well Rodgers did during his unaired America’s Got Talent audition. Given his level of talent it is probably safe to say he moved onto the next round. Rodgers’ videos show enough promise though that he could have even been one of the lucky America’s Got Talent contestants to receive a golden buzzer and move right to the live shows.

There has been no decision on America’s Got Talent’s part on what to do with the episode showing Rodgers following his death. Rodgers’ episode, which is set to air in a few weeks, could be removed from the schedule or he could be edited out. Rodgers’ family, meanwhile, has expressed a desire for the episode, with Rodgers performing, to air.
