Tonight, America’s votes will determine who will become THE VOICE, and one of our four original superstar coaches — Blake, Adam, Cee Lo or Christina — will earn ultimate bragging rights for mentoring their performer from contestant to champion. (At least until next season.)
Last night’s final performance episode was full of surprises, as each finalist debuted a completely original single, and performed a duet with their coach. The singles went from sweet to sad to show-stopping, while the duets ranged from touching (Xtina) to terrifying (Cee Lo), but two things remained the same: The finalists gave it their all, and America has a tough decision on its hands tonight.
Missed last night’s episode, or just want to relive the magic of the performances? Check out Javier, Dia, Vicci and Beverly in their last shining moments on the Voice stage:
JAVIER: He’s the family man with the velvety voice who tends toward the romantic and sweet in his song choices.
Original Song: “Stitch by Stitch”
At the time this article was written, Javier’s original single was sitting at an impressive #2 on iTunes.
Duet with Adam Levine: “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson
Coach Adam and Javier’s Matrix-y tribute to MJ is currently at #10 on iTunes.
DIA: She’s Blake’s shy, sweet multi-talented artist who hooks you with her emotional interpretations and entrances you with her deep, soulful voice.
Original Song: “Inventing Shadows”
Dia’s single from last night’s show is currently at #1 on iTunes. And this isn’t the first time…
Duet with Blake Shelton: “I Won’t Back Down” by Tom Petty
Their adorable father-daughter-esque duet is at #15 on iTunes right now.
VICCI: She’s Cee Lo’s stomping little powerhouse from Seattle whose voice and presence explode on stage. And her duet with her coach last night is one for the (crazy) books.
Original Song: “Afraid to Sleep”
Right now, Vicci’s single is #14 on iTunes.
Duet with Cee Lo: “Love is a Battlefield” by Pat Benatar
Their duet that wasn’t so much a duet as it was a delightfully dystopian nightmare hellscape is currently at #38 on iTunes. I’d say the track should be much, much higher on the charts, but I understand why you’d rather just watch this video a million times in a row.
BEVERLY: She’s Xtina’s bold, bald rocker with a voice like Melissa Etheridge and a charisma all her own.
Original Song: “Lovesick”
Beverly’s single is at #28 on iTunes right now.
Duet with Xtina: “Beautiful” by Christina Aguilera
Their stripped-down, acoustic rendition of Coach Christina’s classic self-esteem anthem is at #16 on iTunes right now.
Tune in tonight at 8pm ET to find out which finalist will win $100,00 and a recording contract, and which Voice coach will get to gloat all summer long. Join me here for the live recap, would you?
Until then, tell me: Did you vote? If so, who did you vote for?
