Fans everywhere want to know if Callie accepts Jim’s proposal from last season’s big finale cliffhanger. When BuddyTV visited the set of The Glades earlier this year, the cast remained very tight-lipped about the outcome. But they were excited to talk about the types of cases to expect in season 4, as well as teasing what’s going on with the characters that aren’t named Jim and Callie.

Zombies, Wacky Cases and Family

The cast wants fans to brace themselves for some more wacky cases in season 4. And Carlos Gomez, who plays forensic pathologist Carlos Sanchez, said to expect something from beyond the grave: “Not to give [it] away, but we have a zombie thing coming around,” he said. “I think the cases are going to be a lot wackier than you’ve seen them before. It’s not going to be as edgy. … So I think you’re going to see a lot more of what’s happening with us away from the cases and stuff, which should be interesting, but wackiness ensues at The Glades for sure this season.”

This means there’s a chance we could see more of Carlos’ family, but it will still tie back in with a case he’s working on. “We have a case that I think it involves something to bring back my wife and my kids and stuff. So I think we’re going to be seeing them again, which is great for my character because I am a family man, and even though I’m funny we have a good relation. … There is a past that I had before here and I think we’re going to be touching upon that more into the later part of the season.”

Jordan Wall confirmed that will be the case for Daniel Green as well. “This season, I actually was surprised by something. We’ll find out about Daniel and we’ll get a little peek at his family life.”

Vampires, Werewolves and Musical Numbers

Michelle Hurd, the actress behind FDLE director Colleen Manus, played very coy when asked about the zombie related case. “I quite like that one, it’s very interesting,” she said. “I’m not going to tell you anything specific about that.” While she won’t divulge what happens, she said she wants the show to go even further. “There’s got to be vampires coming soon,” she joked. “I’m literally waiting for the musical episode, and I want some vampires or werewolves. That’s all I’m asking for.”

Hurd would also like to see Colleen have more to do outside the substation. “I joke now because Colleen’s constantly in the substation, so I wouldn’t mind exiting the house sometimes. I think the first season or the second season, I was out a lot with Jim, and I think that would be fun to do more of that. But once again, it’s sort of tricky. So now you’re packing guns and running out there with him and so what’s your job — am I taking care of all the substations, or am I riding along with Jim?”

Scooby-Doo and Strippers

Matt Passmore, who plays Detective Jim Longworth, said, “We start with a Scooby-Doo episode, so we get a little bit spooky to start off with.” Florida will continue playing a huge role on the show: “Every single homicide is set in a part of Florida that is unique and uniquely ridiculous about Florida.”

There’s also an episode this season involving a strip club. “We are in a stripping episode, yes,” he also revealed. “We get into the fun parlors, so to speak, so that’ll be interesting. … We actually start that episode thinking that one of our own has been killed. So it becomes all of a sudden, we start the tone of that episode where The Glades gets serious.” Who do they think has been killed and what’s the truth behind it? You’ll have to wait for that episode to find out.

The Glades season 4 premieres Monday, May 27 at 9pm on A&E.
