Well who knew that it was actually Holly Madison that would introduce Hugh Hefner to his new girlfriends on The Girls Next Door? On E!’s reality show, Holly is leading the search for a Playmate for the 55th anniversary issue. She has narrowed it down to 5 finalists – Crystal from Chicago, Dasha from the Ukraine, Jessica from Orange County, Hope from New York, and the Shannon twins from Florida. If we were judging on first impressions, it’s hard to see why anybody would pick the Shannon girls. They walked into the Playboy house like they owned the place and didn’t seem remotely interested in Holly or grateful for the opportunity they have been given. There was an overall creepy tone to this weekend’s episode, from the daughter of a former Playmate to sisters who have no problem sharing a man.

Crystal’s mom was also a Playmate in 1968 and though having a family member as a reference may be a good thing in other professions, it’s kind of gross to think that you and your mom both posed nude and could potentially sleep with the same man. The Shannon twins seem to have no problem being naked together or obviously sharing a boyfriend, since they are currently dating Hugh Hefner. Surely this is every man’s fantasy but as a straight woman, I’m usually just left scratching my head sometimes watching the show.

Of all the people who are in the running, the Shannon twins are by far my least favorite. They strike me as a dumber, ruder version of Kendra. Thankfully, only Dasha, Hope, and Crystal are the only ones remaining since Hef narrowed it down to 3 choices. They are all great choices. Dasha is beautiful and experienced, having posed for Playboy in other countries. Hope, the tv host, has a great fashion sense and is extremely well spoken. Crystal is one of the most beautiful in the bunch and seems like the best choice for the 55th anniversary Playmate.

Meanwhile, does this mean the Shannon twins are going to become regular fixtures on The Girls Next Door? I don’t know if I can take it…
