While Christmas is meant to be a happy and joyful time, this isn’t how everyone feels at this time of the year.  In fact, the holidays can be a stressful and depressing time for many people, including Leonard whose Christmas spirit is undermined when he meets his intellectual superior in tonight’s episode of The Big Bang Theory.

The 11th installment of Big Bang Theory‘s second season revolves around a very stressful Leonard (Johnny Galecki) amidst the holiday season.  But his stress levels get even worse when his handsome colleague starts dating Penny (Kaley Cuoco).  While dealing with his jealous emotions, Leonard and his friends must deal with Sheldon (Jim Parsons), who drives everyone crazy over his obsession of giving presents for Christmas.

Joining the cast on tonight’s episode are Michael Hyatt and Michael Trucco.  Hyatt, who guest stars as Charlotte, is perhaps most noted for her recurring role as Brianna Barksdale on the first four seasons of the acclaimed HBO series The Wire.  She is also credited for The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and Six Feet Under.

Michael Trucco, as reported previously, will appear as David, Leonard’s good-looking partner on a project and one of the youngest MacArthur Genius Grant winners ever.  Currently portraying Samuel Anders on Battlestar Galactica, Trucco is also known for his recurring roles on One Tree Hill as Cooper Lee, Pensacola: Wings of Gold as Lt.Tucker “Spoon” Henry, and on Beverly Hills 90210 as Josh Hunter.

So far, it has been a good sophomore season for The Big Bang Theory.  The show has recently led CBS to a Monday night win in viewers and key demos.  Last week’s episode won the show in its timeslot in households, adults 18-34 and adults 18-49, delivering its largest audience ever.
