Suits Season 5 Finale Recap: Is This the End of Pearson Specter Litt?>>>

Mike in the Big House

Viewers will witness Mike’s first night in prison where he bonds with his new cellmate. While he seems to be adjusting well, things take a nasty turn when he realizes the perils of his new situation. In a preview, Mike stands in the middle of the prison cafeteria, surrounded by inmates. Later Mike is restrained by two inmates as another one tries to attack him. “I’m too busy trying to survive in here,” Mike tells Harvey when he drops by for a visit.

A Whole New World

Season 6 will take the show in a different direction, making it seem like a completely different show. According to Rick Hoffman, who plays Louis, the cast even needed “a bit of a moment to adjust when we came back [to work].”

Sarah Rafferty, who plays Donna, tells TV Line, “We’ve got a whole new location — that’s a massive change.”

While much of the “whole new world” vibe is because of Mike’s jailhouse stint,  Pearson Specter Litt will also seem like a “ghost town” due to the departure of its employees. “The stakes are as high as they can be, trying to get Mike out of prison, trying to save the firm, trying to see if there’s any firm to save! It’s pretty intense,” Rafferty explains.

There’s Still Room for Comedy

Though Suits season 6 will no doubt become more dark and intense due to Mike’s prison arc, there’s still room for comedy. “There isn’t a lot of room for joking around when you’re in prison, trying not to die,” Patrick J. Adams, who plays Mike, told TV Line. “But the rest of the show has found a really good way to balance that out.”

Jessica, Harvey and Louis’ desperate attempts to save the firm will mostly provide comic relief for the season. “They need to rent out the offices to a bunch of financial whiz kids, so that [provides] a lot of opportunity for some funny stuff to come back in,” Adams added. “Louis has some great storylines, so he’s bringing the comedy.”

Harvey’s Mess and a Badass Donna

“We all know I got us into this mess,” Harvey says in the preview. “It’s time I got us out of it.”

Harvey’s mess, however, is in a downward spiral. Not only will he have to find a way to get Mike out of prison and deal with the fallout at Pearson Specter Litt, he also has to face an even bigger dilemma. As Jessica points out, “We are being sued for every case Mike Ross has ever touched!”

But all hope is not lost, especially when Harvey has someone as awesome as Donna by his side.

“She rises to a whole new level of badassery, in my opinion, because Harvey’s really struggling with his guilt,” Rafferty said of her character. “We need Harvey to get Mike out of prison, so she’s there helping him navigate those… emotions, which is something that’s really in her skill set to do.”
